Finally I have completed my new web-site. L3P is a neat little utility that will produce a ready-to-render POV-file from any LDRAW model using any part. It is a spin-off from my L3 project. L3P runs under DOS or in a DOS-box in Windows95/WindowsNT. The basic idea of L3P is to take a DAT-file and generate a POV-file with 1) all the triangles and quads of the model and its parts 2) automatically calculated camera and light source positions The only remaining thing for the user to do, is to start POV-Ray. Visit my web-site to have more information and to see some very nice images. http://www.netby.net/Nord/Mandelvej/Hassing/l3p.html Although the name "L3P" was not chosen to imitate Lutz's L2P, the two programs are very much alike. In fact I think that they should merge. L3P do produce good looking images which render relatively fast, but the quality will never come close to that of the Lgeo parts. If Lutz will allow me to use the Lgeo parts and supply some info about e.g. the *.tab files, I think that I could "join forces" with little effort. L3P is also my DAT-file-chekcer, see documentation in l3p.txt. I hope you will use and enjoy L3P. Any comments are appreciated. Lars C.
